[📍Ada, Grey Lynn ] I have been wanting to try Ada for the longest time, and we finally did! The restaurant itself is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The ambiance was top notch, and the food was elegant to match. We ordered the Rewana fried bread with manuka smoked tarakihi 🐟 ($26), oyster mushroom and Kahurangi blue cheese 🍄‍🟫🧀 ($26), and the Porcini hangi croquette 🥔 ($7 each). For mains, we had their beef short rib 🥩 ($42), soft shell crab tomato linguini 🦀🍅🍝 ($42), and their roast cauliflower ($24) My favourite dish out of the appetizers was definitely the Rewana fried bread with oyster mushroom and blue cheese 😍 it was super fragrant and punchy. I didn’t mind the fried bread with smoked tarakihi, but it did feel a bit flat and like it was missing something 🤷🏻‍♀️ The croquettes were also a bit bland, and there was just a bit too much potato without much filling. The mains however I thoroughly enjoyed. The soft shell crab linguini was super fragrant and flavorful, and the soft shell crab was crunchy and delicious. The beef short rib melted in your mouth, and the charr from the roast cauliflower topped it all off beautifully 😋 Overall, some hits and some misses for me. The mains are delicious and something I’d definitely come back for 🙂 🌟8u002F10
