INFO:
It might not be the answer you think… Texture paste for textured art can be so many different things! There isn’t just one ‘secret ingredient’ or ‘secret recipe’ because it honestly depends on what you’re creating! Today I created some thin shell inspired textures, so I wanted a thin creamy paste. I loved using topping compound mixed with paint! But other days, I want it to hold a thicker texture and joint compound is great for this! Modelling paste is also a wonderful option especially when creating thicker textures or wanting to mix in coloured paint. So there is no secret recipe for textured art because it isn’t a one size fits all approach! It really does take a bit of experimenting! Don’t know what to use when and why? I have an entire module about this in The Textured Art Course! I go through examples of each paste (several budget and professional mediums), how to modify them, the prosu002Fcons of each one AND examples of styles that they’re suited for. This is just one part of my 2 hour course! If you want all of the research and experimenting done for you and packaged up ready to go, click the link in my bio!
